Festival of Lessons and Carols
St. Andrew’s Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is patterned after the Christmas Eve service held in King's College Chapel, Cambridge. The King’s College Festival was introduced in 1918 and was first broadcast in 1928. It is now broadcast to millions of people around the world and has become a staple of Episcopal churches in the United States. A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens, which is Celebrating its 175th anniversary this year, has become a staple of the holiday tradition. Come and listen to St. Andrew’s own Ted Christopher read the story of the miserly old Scrooge as he is given one last chance at redemption on a memorable Christmas Eve. $5 admission fee benefits the Journey Youth Pilgrimage

A long-standing tradition at St. Andrew's is nearly here. Every year in a long- standing tradition, members of the parish go out into the community to sing for those who are no longer able to get out to participate in the activities of the season. Caroling will be from Noon to 2 p.m. at Brookline at Juniper Village, AristaCare at Hearthside, and Elmcroft assisted living facilities. Evening Prayer has been a major component in the prayer life of Anglicans since the 1552 revision of the Book of Common Prayer. It’s a simple service that allows us to decompress from the busyness and stress of the day. Reminiscent of the Eucharist, Evening Prayer incorporates prayer, scripture, and the profession of our faith through the Apostle’s Creed. Please join us each Wednesday at 5:15 PM in the chapel for 20 minutes of prayer, reflection and spiritual refreshment.

Epiphany Breakfast
Please join us between services on January 6th for an Epiphany potluck breakfast! Bring your favorite breakfast foods - casseroles, breakfast meats, sweetbreads or muffins, fruits or salads, or whatever you'd like - and we'll feast together on this church feast day.

The Parish Life Committee will meet Thursday, January 10 at 7pm at the home of Ann Shepherd, 1245 Westerly Parkway #48. The meeting will be a time to socialize, review the past year, and make some plans for the upcoming year; and also to welcome new members to our committee, and introduce a change in leadership. Anyone interested in joining the committee or just finding out more is welcome!
