Blue Christmas Service
This ecumenical worship opportunity for anyone who is not feeling the joy of the season. If you are grieving, or just experiencing the winter blahs, come and celebrate Christmas at this alternative service. On the darkest night of the year, we will remember that Christ came as the Light of the World. Members of the State College community are invited and encouraged to attend. Masks that cover the mouth AND nose are required for ALL individuals age 2 and older.

With the permission of Bishop Scanlan, we will once again offer Take-Home Communion for Christmas. This is intended for those who will not be coming to one of the two Christmas Eve services (5:00 & 8:00 p.m.) because of health concerns. It may be consumed Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Please sign up to receive Take-Home Communion by Friday, December 17. We will be offering a SAFEGUARDING GOD’S CHILDREN training class on January 23rd, 2022, at 11:30AM (immediately following church). We will continue to require masks, and those who are required to take this class have been notified. The class is in ROOM #325 of the Trost Wing and light refreshments will be served. Me Talk Pretty One Day, David Sedaris We will start the new year off on a light note with a collection of humorous essays by David Sedaris, Me Talk Pretty One Day. The collection includes stories about the author’s family and childhood, his move to France and attempts to learn the language, his experience of speech therapy as an elementary student, and his first gig teaching language and writing.

The Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, January 30, at approximately 11:30 (following a short break after the 10 a.m. service) in the church. You may attend in person or via Zoom. A link will be provided prior to the meeting. There will be no potluck meal again this year.

On Sunday, February 13, the J2A youth will host their annual Super Bowl Chili Fundraiser! A variety of chili types will be sold after the 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 5 p.m. services. Take home a quart for only $8, while supplies last! All proceeds benefit our J2A youth, as they prepare for an Urban Adventure in May 2022 and a Pilgrimage in 2023. Thank you for your support!
