IHS Wishing Well at Meyer Dairy
Every year around Christmas Interfaith Human Services sends volunteers to several retail businesses, inviting the customers to drop some change—or bills—into their wishing wells to support local families with financial emergencies. This year St. Andrew’s is responsible for staffing the wishing well at Meyer Dairy on Tuesday, December 6 and Wednesday, December 7. As always, we’ll be outside in the healthy fresh air. On three Wednesday evenings during Advent, we will have a Taizé service in the church. Take a break from the busyness of the holiday and join us in 45 minutes of quiet reflection. Taizé is a quiet, meditative service of music, silence, brief readings, and prayer, which calms body, mind, and spirit.

FRIDAY FILMS Friday, December 9, 7 p.m. Room 325 Pizza and refreshments 6:30 p.m. Film starts 7 p.m. Get ready to sing along as the December film will be the holiday classic, White Christmas. Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye will transport you to a time when all troubles of the heart could be solved by a little snow. Friday Films are free and all are welcome. On Saturday December 10, 2022, at 11 a.m., in the Pasquerilla Worship Hall on Penn State’s campus, Ted Christopher will be ordained to the Sacred Order of Priests. Mixed boxes of cookies will be sold Sunday, December 11 after all services (or as long as they last!) for $8 to benefit our J2A pilgrimage to Upstate New York in June 2023!

This special service is a holiday tradition at St. Andrew's. This year it will include all nine Lessons and Carols and will be followed by a reception in Canterbury Hall. The Nursery will be open, but unattended. There is no 5 p.m. Eucharist this evening.

Following our 10 a.m. service on Sunday, December 18, in Canterbury Hall. After we warm up, we might venture out to the front lawn to spread holiday cheer with our joyful noise. We will sing favorite hymns and popular secular songs.

The final session of the advent program based on Bishop Curry's Way of Love will take place on Wednesday, December 21, at 6:30 p.m. in Room 324 (the library.)
