Holy Eucharist with St. Nicholas Visit and Toys for Tots Collection
Our principal weekly Eucharist is celebrated every Sunday at 10 a.m. and lasts around 75 minutes. During this time our nursery is open, and children may attend church school classes. Music is led by organ and our popular choir. Church this Sunday will feature a children’s sermon and guest appearance from a very special visitor. Everyone is encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to Toys for Tots. Children will bring the toys to the altar during the Offertory.

The annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols will be presented on Sunday, December 15th, at 5 p.m. It is patterned after the Christmas Eve service held in King's College Chapel. The Festival was introduced in 1918 to bring a more imaginative approach to worship. It was first broadcast in 1928 and is now broadcast to millions of people around the world. Candlemas: The Feast of the Presentation of Jesus Christ
On Sunday, February 2, we will celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus Christ, also known as Candlemas, as the 10 am service. Candlemas marks the ritual presentation of the baby Jesus to God in the Temple at Jerusalem 40 days after Christmas. The Gospel of Luke says that Jesus was met by Anna and Simeon. The Adult Choir will sing the service of choral Evensong with music by Simon Lindley, Barry Smith, John Rutter, and Richard Shephard. Organ music will include pieces by Johann Pachelbel and David Lasky. A reception will follow in Room 325.

This Sunday experience worship in a new way; at the 10 a.m. Eucharist only, the sermon will be replaced with an Instructed Eucharistic. Speakers will intersperse commentary on the history and theological significance of various parts of our worship with the service itself. During the Eucharistic Prayer, the speakers will be silent.
