Daughters of the King at St. Andrew’s will be reading and discussing The Color of Love: A Story of a Mixed-Race Jewish Girl, a memoir
by Marra B. Gad, this July. And all are welcome to join them. Adopted by a white Jewish family, Marra B. Gad grew up navigating life as a Black Jewish woman in a world that often rejected both parts of her identity. Years after an estrangement caused by racism within her own family, she becomes the only person able to help reconnect her Great-Aunt Nette, now living with Alzheimer’s, to her remaining relatives. In choosing compassion over resentment, Marra discovers the possibility of healing, forgiveness, and an unexpected bond.
