For its March meeting, the book club has decided to read Delia Owens’ debut novel, Where the Crawdads Sing, currently #1 on the New York Times Best Seller list. Described as a coming of age, haunting, murder mystery, readers are drawn into the world of the recluse protagonist Kya Clark, who grew up in the rural marshlands North Carolina and is suspected of murder. Owens memorably depicts the small town drama and courtroom theatrics, but perhaps best of all is her vivid portrayal of the nature filled North Carolina setting.
