Poetry Reading

This year’s poetry contest will be our third during the Arts Festival and is the culmination of our 2024 contest with the theme “And who is your neighbor?” We received many great entries from as far away as Nigeria and Serbia and as close as this parish. Thank you to all of the poets who participated.
We would also like to thank our judges, Jerry Wemple, a poet, non-fiction writer, and editor who teaches in the Creative Writing Program at Commonwealth University, Bloomsburg, and our bishop, Audrey Scanlan.
The event will be hosted by Alison Jaenicke and include readings from Jerry Wemple, all of our prizewinners, additional poets whose work was chosen for our anthology, and a poem from Emily Grosholz that inspired our anthology cover, read by Alison Jaenicke. Following the reading, there will be a reception and opportunity to purchase the contest anthology and books by some of the poets.
