The Book Club is taking a break in August, but will return on September 2 to discuss The Color of Water by James McBride. In this memoir, McBride intertwines the narratives of his life as a biracial individual, one of twelve children of a white mother and black father, and his mother’s experiences as a Polish immigrant and Orthodox Jew. He discusses his mother’s contributions to his life and coming to terms with his confusion over his own identity.
Visitors and newcomers are always welcome.
