Book Club

November 30, 2021 @ 7:00 pm

Tuesday, November 30, 7 p.m.
Barnes and Noble Cafe – 365 Benner Pike
(location change)
Cultish: The Language of Fanaticism, Amanda Montell
The Book Club has selected a non-fiction title for November, Cultish by writer and language scholar Amanda Montell. Cultish is “an exploration of language and its influence. It gives readers an inside look as to how cultish groups exercise their power, from SoulCycle and serial killer documentaries to Jonestown and QAnon. The author unravels the hidden secrets behind intense ideologies, the dangers of us versus them attitudes, and the shocking ways cults invade everyday life.”
Because St. Andrew’s will be hosting Out of the Cold the last week of November, the Book Club will meet in the cafe at the State College Barnes and Noble. And while we’re there…we might just have to treat ourselves to a latte.
Please join us on November 30 at 7 p.m. at Barnes and Noble. Newcomers and visitors are always welcome!
