Jan 19: Faith In Action: Composting and Creation Care at St. Andrew’s – Alison Jaenicke, Kevin Lowe,
and the Creation Care Corps
One of the Episcopal Church’s priorities is to “take up church-wide action in order to safeguard the integrity of
Creation and to sustain and renew the life of the Earth.” In that spirit, a new ministry at St. Andrew’s, the
Creation Care Corps, was kicked off last July. The group intends to work with other committees and ministries
at St. Andrew’s to support efforts to bring a creation care lens to our work as a church. The initial emphasis has
been on creating a composting waste stream for the St. Andrew’s kitchen, in cooperation with Community Cafe
and the Property Committee. In this forum, Alison Jaenicke will share a photo slideshow of our new
composting system in action at the Community Cafe, and members of the Creation Care Corps will lead a
discussion on creation care goals and possibilities.
