The Church and the Body of Christ, Presented by Kevin Lowe
What is the church? The metaphors we use for describing the church hold great power for how we see ourselves
and what we do. One of the oldest metaphors for the church –- and a favorite of the apostle Paul — is that we
are the body of Christ. But what does it mean to be the body of Christ? How does this metaphor relate to our
real, complicated, uncooperative, sometimes disabled bodies? In this forum we will reflect on the metaphor of
the body of Christ, and the physical and spiritual practices into which it invites us.
