St. Andrew’s Book Group

For the month of February, the Book Club decided to focus on short stories and unanimously voted on reading Florida by Lauren Groff, one of four finalists for the 2018 National Book Award for Fiction.  Florida consists of 11 emotionally intense, mind-bending, and captivating short stories all centered in the beauty, wonder, and unique culture of the Sunshine State. Among the many colorful characters the reader will encounter are hurricanes, Spanish moss, snakes, drifters, alligators, transplanted Northerners, palmetto bugs, lizards, and all of the weird eccentricities that make Florida the unique, magical environment that it is.
