Our One Word Alternative Bible Study
Daughters of the King at St. Andrew’s are continuing to host an alternative kind of Bible study this month. Any and all are welcome to join us on Wednesday, October 1, at 1:00 p.m. in Room 325. In this session, Kitty Mussett will examine the word ‘healing.’ No homework is required. Come prepared to enjoy the discussion and immerse yourself in prayer. Light snacks will be provided. The Search for a New Archbishop of Canterbury, presented by Philip Jenkins As the search for a new Archbishop of Canterbury is nearing a close, Philip Jenkins will lead us through the process that is taking place, who the potential candidates may be, what we know about them, and what impact their selection would have on the Anglican and Episcopal churches.

All creatures, great and small, are invited to attend our annual Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 5. Your pet (leashed or caged as appropriate) is welcome to join you inside the church at our 10 a.m. service of Holy Eucharist. This is a family and child friendly service. Photos of pets and stuffed animals are also welcome!

On Sunday, October 5, the Adult Choir of St. Andrew's will present a service of choral evensong. Music will include the evening canticles, the Selwyn Service, by Stephanie Martin, Preces and Responses by Joanna Forbes L'Estrange, and anthems by Havergal Brian and Simon Lole. The Rev. Ted Christopher will be the officiant. Organist Gwen Catchen will play music by Johann Pachelbel and Walter Wells. A reception will follow in Room 325.

The Book Group will meet Tuesday, October 7, to discuss The Briar Club by Kate Quinn, a “haunting and powerful story of female friendships and secrets in a Washington, DC, boardinghouse during the McCarthy era.” The Book Group is open to all. Newcomers and guests are always welcome.
