After discussing the complexities of Jack Kerouac’s 1957 Beat Generation classic On the Road in June, the Book Club decided to read something humorous and light hearted for July—Armistead Maupin’s 1978 novel Tales of the City which chronicles the hilarious intertwined lives of all of the quirky, non- conventional residents of a mythical apartment house located at 28 Barbary Lane in San Francisco during the early 1970s. Station Eleven, Emily St. John Mandel (2014) For the month of August, the Book Club has chosen to read Emily St. John Mandel’s Station Eleven - a fictional post-apocalyptic tale of a group of nomadic artists, traveling the Great Lakes region after a flu/pandemic has ravaged the nation in an effort to keep the remnants of art & humanity alive. Following 10 a.m. Service In front of the Church Come for the backpack blessing, stay for the ice cream! All ages are invited to bring their backpack, laptop, briefcase, or school/work bag. Blessings will take place in front of the church or as a drive-by blessing for those who prefer. We will be serving ice cream on the lawn.

Welcome Back Sunday
Join us either in-person or on Facebook Live for our Welcome Back Sunday worship service. Pajama Day—you’ve been watching church on TV in your pajamas (don’t deny it.) This Sunday, we invite all ages to wear your pajamas to church! And bring some throw pillows for your pew – it’s not as comfy as your couch. Find out more »Lunch on the Lawn
After the 10:00 service on Sunday, September 12 we will have a picnic on the front lawn of the parish life center. All food and drink will be provided. We will serve mini sub-like sandwiches, sides, cookies, drinks, etc. dished out by folks wearing masks and gloves. So, just bring yourself and your family. Seating will be provided on the front lawn (or bring a blanket) with some shade canopies. In case of rain, we will sit in Canterbury Hall.

Youth and Adults are Invited! Church members of all ages, 5th grade and up, are invited to serve as acolytes. The service of our acolytes is an important part of every service. Father Jeff and Deacon Joe will be offering a training session for those interested after the 10 am service on September 19. Acolytes serve at least once a month.
