St. Andrew’s Book Group

November 28, 2017 @ 7:00 pm

The St. Andrew’s Book Group has selected Having Our Say: The Delaney Sisters’ First 100 Years as the book to read for November. The book is based on an oral history by Sarah Louise Delaney and A. Elizabeth Delaney, daughters of a former slave who became the first African-American elected Bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States. The sisters were civil rights pioneers, but their story was largely unknown until Amy Hill interviewed them and turned their story into a national best seller in 1993. It has since been adapted to a hit Broadway play and a CBS television film. All are invited to read the book and join the discussion on Tuesday, November 28, at 7 p.m. in the St. Andrew’s library, Room 324.
