February 22 @ 6:30 pm
For the first time since Father Jeff’s arrival at St. Andrew’s, he has selected the film we will screen this month. He has chosen Lars and the Real Girl, an Academy Award nominated movie starring Ryan Gosling in one of his earlier roles.
Extremely shy Lars (Ryan Gosling) finds it impossible to make friends or socialize. His brother and sister-in-law worry about him, so when he announces that he has a girlfriend he met on the Internet, they are overjoyed. But Lars’ new lady is a life-size plastic woman. On the advice of a doctor, his family and the rest of the community go along with his delusion.
Lars and the Real Girl will be shown at 7:00 p.m. in Canterbury Hall. We will gather at 6:30 p.m. for pizza and snacks. A discussion, led by Father Jeff, will follow the film for those who wish to stay.
